Help for media

The CTPA is always happy to help journalists with background information, CTPA quotes and access to spokespeople, as appropriate, to inform about the science behind cosmetic and personal care products. Please direct your questions to [email protected] to gain detailed answers about cosmetic ingredient and product safety as well as a quote to use in your article as appropriate. Please provide a deadline and context for your question to help us respond as quickly as

possible. Unfortunately we are unable to provide information on specific brands or individual company policies.

Regulatory advice

For key regulatory news, the CTPA website contains public access information to help companies understand their legal obligations.

For generic questions about the cosmetics industry, the CTPA public website has a dedicated FAQs section which answers the questions that we receive most regularly.

Further sources of information

The Media Centre contains past CTPA research and output from media panels CTPA has conducted in the past which continue to be relevant information sources.

Sense About Science provides help to navigate occasionally difficult scientific research:

Cancer Research UK science blog provides topical advice following media coverage and also offers very clear explanations of risk factors, understanding epidemiology studies and what the latest research may mean to people worried about cancer.

The National Health Service has a ‘Behind the Headlines’ section on its website where it examines and puts in context the major health news stories.
