Ceramide

A type of lipid (fat) molecule used as an emollient in skin and hair care products. Ceramides help to keep skin hydrated and in good condition.

Ceramides are also produced by our bodies so they are found naturally in our skin structure, acting as a ‘glue’ to hold skin cells together. Ceramides found in the skin help to stop moisture loss thereby keeping skin soft and hydrated.
