Glycerin is a moisturising ingredient that helps attract and retain water, keeping skin feeling hydrated, soft and smooth. It is one of the most commonly used ingredients in skincare, haircare and personal care products to increase moisture levels and improve product performance and feel.

Glycerin is chemically part of the sugar family.  It is also naturally present in the skin and can be found in its protective ‘acid mantle’, which is a thin, protective layer on the skin’s surface.

Glycerin is highly effective at attracting and retaining moisture, because its chemical structure contains three sites which attract water mollecules.  This makes it a highly effective moisturising ingredient to leave skin feeling soft and smooth and reducing the appearance of fine lines and dryness.
