Peptides

Peptides are short chains made up of amino acids.  Amino acids are also the building blocks of proteins, so peptides are essentially small proteins. 

Peptides are found naturally in our bodies where they play a central role in the metabolism of the body. They signal to the body to activate the repair mechanism of the skin.

In cosmetics and personal care products, peptides are frequently used in anti-ageing products, designed to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and improve skin’s elasticity.

Peptides may also be used in haircare to help strengthen the hair fibres.
