Xanthan gum is a naturally derived powdery ingredient used to thicken and stabilise cosmetic and personal care products.

It helps create smooth creams and gels, keeps ingredients evenly mixed, and improves the texture and application of skincare and haircare products.

Xanthan gum dissolves well in hot water and forms highly viscous (thick) solutions with a gel-like consistency.

Xanthan gum is created by fermentation using the microorganism Xanthomonas campestris, which feeds on sugars in grains or other starchy sources.
